Overview

This guide explains how to connect Microsoft Copilot AI to Grip

Connecting Copilot enables Grip to obtain information about AI Assistants and audit logs related to activity.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft Power Platform license

  • Power Platform admin role

  • O365 integration is connected to Grip

Integration steps

  • Navigate to the Power Platform admin center,» Manage (1)

  • Copy the Environment URL (2) and give it to Grip Support for documentation in AWS as DATAVERSE_ENVIRONMENT_URL.

  • Navigate to Settings (3)

  • Under the Users + permissions section, click on Security roles(4).

  • Click on + New role (5).

  • Give the role a name (6), and associate it with the desired Business unit (7)

  • In the “Members’ privilege inheritance section, select “Direct user (basic) access…

  • Ensure the Include App Opener… checkbox (8) is unchecked.

  • Click Save.

  • From the Roles list, select the role you’ve just created.

  • Search for the following tables:

    • bot

    • botcomponent

    • connectionreference

    • systemuser

  • Grant all of them Organization (8) Read permissions.

  • Click Save & Close

  • Now, navigate to Application users (11) and click on +New app User (12)

  • Assign the User to the Grip connected app.

  • Assign the user to the organization ID and the previously created role, and click on Create.

The agent will begin syncing on the AI Agents page the following day.

Add Teams permissions for Copilot.

To get Teams agents, the following scope needs to be added to Teams.

TeamsAppInstallation.ReadForUser.All

  • To add the permissions, go to the left sidebar of the app you created for Grip and select Manage » API permissions.

  • On the new right sidebar, select Microsoft Graph.

  • Add TeamsAppInstallation.ReadForUser.All scopes.

Click Add permissions.
