Overview

PingFederate is an enterprise federation server that enables user authentication and single sign-on (SSO). It serves as a global authentication authority that lets your customers, employees, and partners securely access applications.

This article guides you through the process of integrating PingFederate with Grip Security.

Prerequisites

Access to a PingFederate Administrative Account.

Setup process

1 – Configuring PingFederate

  • Open the SP connections page on your PingFederate console: 

  • Click the relevant SP connection. A summary of the SP Connection is displayed.

  • Scroll down and click Mapping Method.

  • Select Issuance Criteria and create the criteria for the scope based on the available attributes in the SAML assertion:

2 – Configuring Grip Security

  • From Grip, go to - System (A) » Users & Permissions tab (B) under SSO Provider » PingFederate  », click on Connect (C)

  • Under Identity Provider Details, enter the value provided by your IdP (D)

  • To upload the Metadata XML file, click Upload File (E).
